Certification Solutions: Alternative Certification Program

LRCE has formed the Certification Solutions in an effort to offer talented individuals the opportunity to gain fast-track certification while teaching. Successful candidates will earn a Louisiana teaching certificate in 15-36 months while working full-time in a public school or non-public school, earning full-time pay.

Whether you are retired, changing careers, or newly graduated from college, Certification Solutions could be the answer for you!

General requirements for CS applicants include:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum 2.50 Cumulative GPA.
  • U.S. Citizenship or work permit.
  • Passing scores on PRAXIS I and PRAXIS II Content Specialty Exams (PRAXIS requirements ) by April 15, 2012.
  • A satisfactory background check as required by the hiring school system.

Application Process -- CS Summer 2012 Cohort

CS will accept applications for our summer 2012 cohort from January 2 to March 16, 2012.

For further information, please contact Sarah Alvear at (225) 924-7600 or by email at saraha@LRCE.org. Informational meetings will also be held at LRCE on December 6, 2011 and February 7, 2012. The meetings will start at 5:30 p.m. and last approximately one-and-a-half hours. No registration is required to attend the meetings.
